Interested in WebMatrix? Here's how to get it.
WebMatrix is a free web development tool from Microsoft that includes everything you need for website development. Start from open source web applications, built-in web templates or just start writing code yourself. It's all-inclusive, simple and best of all free. Developing websites has never been easier.
To get started creating websites, just download and install WebMatrix using the Microsoft Web Platform Installer. (The link will prompt you to Run or Save the Web Platform Installer).
Once you launch the Web Platform Installer follow these steps:
1. The Installer will display options to add. Rather than select from menus, see next step...
2. Type in the search field: webmatrix
The search icon will change to an x, in case you need to clear the field
3. Press Enter on your keyboard.
An option to Add Microsoft Webmatriix will be a result, Select Add:
4. The Install button wil become active at the bottom of the window, Select Install:
5. Select Accept for the install to proceed. Dependent applications will also be installed:
6. Webmatrix and dependent applications will install. A confirmation page will display:
7. Once installed launch Webmatrix from your Start menu in the Microsoft Webmatrix folder.
