How do I add a group in VisualVault?
The following article explains how to create a new group in VisualVault. A group is used to assign multiple users the same levels of permissions. Groups are the recommended method for managing security within VisualVault.
Note: You must login with a user that has administrative privileges.
To create a new group, please follow these steps:
- Open a browser window and go to your VisualVault Login page.
- Enter the following information:
- User ID: this will typically be in the format of firstname.lastname
- Password: the password for your account
- From the Admin Tools menu select Groups.
- Click New Group.
- Enter the necessary information:
- Group Name: the name of the group
- Group Description: a short description of the group
- Select an associated company location, customer or supplier from the drop down
- Click Continue.
