How do I create a catch-all email address?
The following article explains how to create a catch-all email address. A catch-all email address will direct any email messages sent to an email account that does not exist on your domain name to a designated email account. A catch-all email address maybe created only by the root user.
To create a catch-all email address, please follow these steps:
- Open a browser window go to one of the following URLs:
- http://mail.yourdomainname.com
- http://mail#.safesecureweb.com (this address is provided in the setup email)
- Login as root@yourdomainname.com with the password supplied in your setup email.
- From the Settings menu select Email Accounts.
- Click Add Alias.
- Enter the following information:
- Alias Name — enter the name for the alias
- Emails — enter the email address(es) that you want to receive messages (one email address per line)
- Click Save.
- Click Set Catch-All.
- From the drop down menu, select the alias you created in step 5.
- Click Save.
